. . . here is the reel-gallows, all the reels over the years that tried to live and work in the saltwater but just couldn't survive. Really, they are the reels my dad would buy for cheap, then we'd use them and while out fishing they would seize up or something on them would break and that would be the end to them. Has anyone ever tried to take one of these cheap-o reels apart and try to fix them?, there is no way to even begin to figure the things out as once one takes the side cover off the insides become like a Jack-in the-Box and spring out at you and end up all misaligned and I could never get the reel back together again, much like Humpty Dumpty. Except for kids reels, never again will I buy the cheap-o reels to use in the saltwater.

On another note, here are the two new Quantum Boca pts40's that Quantum sent me back after I had sent them back to them under warranty for the drag knobs no longer clicking or engaging under any of the detents, so they sent me two new reels with all the stuff included like the reel bag, handles, tools and even the two old drag knobs and one of the spools back that had my line on it. This is the second time I've had to send a reel(s) back, the first time the bail arm broke at the roller and they sent me a new reel back, so now I have 3 extra handles and reel bags and tools. At least these two reels will be brand new for the upcoming season, to go with the new boat I'll be buying over the winter and with all the Penn 6500's I'll be rebuilding this month, just have to order the parts I'll be needing today.
