I have decided to not join any of the clubs I belong in, I don't get anything out of them and never have time to do anything so I am staying with the MBBA but that is it,

I am also not getting any more magazines I get them all and they go from the mail box to a pile, I have a pile that is 2 yrs. old and never even opened.

time for a change.

Bob ... you cantankerous cranky pencil popper on the beach stealer :laugha: why do you want to quite all the clubs? I mean, I have not seen you at a club meeting ... ever? But you got the sticker on your car, so why quit?

Shot an 80 and 82 at Atlantic Country Club in the past month or so, with several hundred schoolies in between, with a weekend ski trip thrown in just to prove I could still turn the boards after a 14 year absence. Funny, you'd think at 53 and 14 years not on the boards you'd loose something, but I still eat double blacks for breakfast.

IMHO, outdoors and active is what it's all about, give me the fresh air and some action and I'm happy.

I'm not a club guy either. As soon as there's excessive politics, personal grudges, etc, I want no part of it. I'd rather go out and do almost anything else...

Newport County has it figured out. Meetings only in the off-season, friendly people, and fun times...

Bob that is funny, I was actually thinking about joining a club in hopes of finding some good local info and mentorship.

I used to have piles of old magazines too and never could find an issue/article when I needed it. Now when I read an article I want to save, I tear the magazine at the spine, three hole punch the article and put it in a binder. My binder has three sections: location, tecnique and How-To projects. :chased:

that's a good idea Robert! I can never find old articles unless it's referenced in huge print on the cover.
