Karl F 01-18-2007, 08:07 PM Just Wait... :pop: UserRemoved1 01-18-2007, 08:12 PM Funny you should say this. I just got a mailing from MXenergy advertising electric rates cheaper than Nat Grid. 10.8/kwh vs 13.725/kwh they say right now. Our rates in Uxbridge and Hopedale have gone up alot...house is up $55/month now and this is after cfl conversion last year which saved $28/month. Raven 01-18-2007, 08:14 PM i'm burning six inch wide candles as it is... http://forums.spodesabode.com/images/smiles/icon_cry.gif 5/0 01-18-2007, 09:47 PM Best of luck to those who have a heat pump for primary heat:poke: 5/0 justplugit 01-18-2007, 10:09 PM My utility tried to rake me over the coals last month. They couldn't get in to read the gas meter and estimated my bill to be much higher than last December, which was freezin compared to this December. Called them with the reading and it was $80 instead of the $220 they estimated. :af: Meantime the electric went up 10%. :( gone fishin 01-18-2007, 11:59 PM Check the fuel cost on that bill .. We are still getting hosed no matter what the energy companies are telling us in their propaganda:realmad: :realmad: Slingah 01-19-2007, 07:37 AM Did the rates go up again, cause I could have swarn I payed less per month using 3 AC's this summer than I am now. we went from 100 to 148??? wtf??? BigFish 01-19-2007, 08:02 AM They have the American public conditioned to just pay whatever they put on the bill!!!:af: People are beginning to wake up! Raven 01-19-2007, 08:42 AM time to switch to solar....it's wicked easy to do now adays... the panels are getting real cheap. the six inch wide pumpkin scented candles at walmart (they last forever) were mega cheap so my wife and i each bought each other one for christmas just on a fluke.... but it was funny..too... that i was watching an episode of Stargate SG1 on TV and son of a bitch they had bought the same candles and were burning them on the set.:btu: TheSpecialist 01-19-2007, 11:01 PM No lie my bill this month was 166.00 I don't use that much gas in my Expedition in a whole month. striperondafly 01-20-2007, 07:04 AM we went from 100 to 148??? wtf??? slingah same with us - 100 to 152 - nuts Karl F 01-20-2007, 08:33 AM Mine stayed about the same, just a hair over 200 bucks (Nstar capecod, and 2 athletes (laundry) & too many appliences running all the time)... no increase just too much dough.. some of you guys might be paying for your Xmas decorations :) on this bill...;) Bob Thomas 01-20-2007, 01:11 PM From around $96 to $144 here. Amazing....and we STILL lose power! Maybe they should sink the blasted money into upgrades!:af: MrHunters 01-20-2007, 03:59 PM 50 to 100 here. in 2 months and according to my bill my mwh doubled as well... yet nothing is different. Joey G 01-20-2007, 04:09 PM FROM 145 TO 195 . Swimmer 01-20-2007, 04:35 PM Isn't January the month the electric companies make up for under estimating the bill the rest of the year. They actually send someone around in December and find some people used more, and some people used less, and all are billed accordingly, ya right. I know mine is always more in January and I called a couple of years ago and thats what tyhe poor lady who answered the phone for me and the gazillion other customers who called complaining said. Slingah 01-20-2007, 04:43 PM ever feel your getting hit from every angle???? :whackin: up,up,up,up,up,up,.......:( basswipe 01-20-2007, 04:51 PM Like Salty has done we're in the process of getting rid of all incandescent light bulbs in the house. This month's electric bill was just way to high. Squid kids Dad 01-20-2007, 05:13 PM Basswipe..I did that last month and it seems it has help a lot Swimmer 01-21-2007, 12:08 PM You guys switching to the curly bulbs and saving money? MrHunters 01-21-2007, 12:29 PM You guys switching to the curly bulbs and saving money? yep... had em for 2 years now. chris L 01-21-2007, 01:15 PM by july mine will be up 49% . to hell with the UI's upper management Mr. Sandman 01-21-2007, 01:49 PM Wow, mine is like 220-280/mo.... My Dec bill was $267. My CFL conversion reduced it $60-70/mo too. I wish I had a electric bill of 55. You guys must live in the dark. The breakdown of my bill is like this: $0.119190 /kwh supplier charges <---act elect cost misc bs: $.04717 distrib $0.02278 transition $0.00695 transmission $0.00050 Renewable Energy $ 0.00250 Energy Cons total: .11919 + .0799 = .1991 $/kwh NET How many KWH do you normally burn in a month? Ballpark.... I am in the 1100 range but in July with AC it will push 2100 MrHunters 01-21-2007, 02:35 PM keep in mind im in a 650 sq ft apt last jan 383kwh this jan 610kwh have not added anything substantial so i think something up 610 kwh = $105.85 this month ProfessorM 01-22-2007, 02:28 PM Wow mine was 79 bucks for the month for a usage of 585. I also have Middleboro Electric which I am pretty sure is a non profit local electric company. The town next over Taunton also has a local electric company and I think I read they have some of the lowest rates in NE. I have been all fluro lights for a few years now too. I can imagine what my boss pays for electric to run the machine shop on Cape, 2 shifts. I think he told me 3500 a month a few years back. Maybe he's not as rich as I think. P. TheSpecialist 01-22-2007, 10:52 PM I used 981 in January, there is nothing on this bill that says it is adjusted. It says actual meter reading, not estimated. Maybe the electric dryer with all the laundry is killing us. Backbeach Jake 01-23-2007, 06:31 AM You guys switching to the curly bulbs and saving money? Ocean State Job Lot 2 bucks. More light, less wattage. Takes a sec to power up but I like them. Raven 01-23-2007, 08:14 AM yep switched to them curlies... but the only lights we use generally are the tv tube, the pc tube, and the fire-light and or candle light.... turning a light on is only for the time needed to see....then it goes off. nice thing about snow.... it makes it easier to see at night upstairs without having to turn on a light... (for a middle of the night bathroom run) conservative? Absolutely. I think the bill was $ 126.00 which is $20 dollars higher than usual but we're running the oil filled heater (in the bathroom) .....the thing is awesome. especially the hot towels :btu: Raven 01-23-2007, 08:19 AM what did ya think anout that MX electrical provider offer out of Texas... i wonder how they do that...? 10% less kevin d 01-23-2007, 07:13 PM My electric bill went down. I am on the "year round" plan. After 1 year of service they average out your bill, divide by 12 and pay that amount every month. At the end of each year they reevaluate and raise or decrease your rates for the upcoming year. I replaced my 15 year old central heat and air in 05 and have switched to the curly bulbs in most of the house this year. Hopefully my bill will go down again next year. Swimmer 01-23-2007, 09:37 PM Has anyone bothered to call and find out the reason behind the increase? My wife and I don't use much. Even during the day when we are home we don't. $115.00 to $148.00 this month. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
