Do you load your plugs tail first or head first in your bags.
View Full Version : Stupid Question Terence 02-02-2007, 07:58 PM Do you load your plugs tail first or head first in your bags. tattoobob 02-02-2007, 08:05 PM Depends how long they are but most go in head first Bill L 02-02-2007, 08:21 PM I put mine in tail first, heads up Tburg 02-02-2007, 08:35 PM Flip a coin : ) Sweetwater 02-02-2007, 08:54 PM Some of the tubes that hold the lures are deeper than the plug, so I load them head first and hang the single hook (rarely trebles) over the tube for easy extraction. :) Mr. Sandman 02-02-2007, 09:10 PM After thinking about it sort of depends on the plug. But most of them I normally put them in tail first. Having said that....Don'tja just HATE WHEN EVERY SO OFTEN THE TAIL HOOK HANGS UP ON THE DRAIN HOLE. JeeeeeeeeeZ I can spend 10 minutes #^&#^&#^&#^&ing with that thing trying to free it. :smash: I have come to believe it is the fishing Gods :spidey: that are trying to prevent me from getting to the one plug I need. When this happens it diverts my attn and I will eventully take off my gear, disassemble it all and remove it . Once it happend twice in one night and I was really PO'ed. Always seems to be in the middle of a moonless night. Gotta go back to the truck and dump the whole works and that plug is still stuck. Head first for me ....now. snake slinger 02-03-2007, 07:39 AM head first Pt.JudeJoe 02-03-2007, 08:26 AM Beach Masters don't get tangled.:bl: EricM 02-03-2007, 08:46 AM ohhhhhhh baldwin 02-03-2007, 11:24 AM When practical, I try to put them in tail first. That way, I can see what they are easier. What irritates me is when that tail hook gets caught in the drain hole in the bottom of the tube. Pete F. 02-03-2007, 11:57 AM I feel deprived, I put mine in tailfirst and rarely if ever get caught. That's probably cursed me now. fishermanjim 02-03-2007, 12:25 PM tail in first,,,when they fit that way Rob Rockcrawler 02-03-2007, 09:59 PM Head first for just about all of em. Had too many tail hooks get caught and had to empty out too many times. Wouldnt it be nice if we werent so stubborn and could just use one of the other plugs that isnt stuck, but since its stuck that means that it has to be the one that will catch. Casting Z's 02-04-2007, 05:25 PM I too have experienced the hook thru the drain hole. It seems to happen much easier with the one large hole centered in the bottom of the sleeve. We all agree and that it's obvious, the best posistion is tail first. Now if there where many little holes, say, (1/8" dia.) in the lower corners, then the hooks couldn't find it's way in at all. ChiefLinesider 02-04-2007, 06:34 PM head first. I like to keep my dressed tail hooks looking nice. & no hooks getting caught up in bottom vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
