I didn't fish on the 4th, but I spent the day catching hermit/green/spider crabs and minnows for my boys to check out and play with. I baited the minnow trap with a ham sandwich, I got a few mumichogs, but I got a load of tiny little shrimp, I'm sure these guys are part of the food chain, but I have no idea what I'd target with them, or how to hook them. Any ideas or suggestions??

I was thinking the same thing. I'm gonna use a small hook and bobber and drift them over a certain sand bar the stripers love. I'll tell you what happens. If it works it will be a good method for the kids. Lots of shrimp around if you really look at the bottom you'll see them.

hey guys if you use shrimp for bait hook them under the horn on the head . this will keep them alive for the longest time and they can still flip around on the hook .atleast that's how I did it in florida . down there everybody use shrimp there really cheap bait.I lived down there for a couple of years and fished all the time
