Do any of you guys/gals have a filter under your kitchen sink?
What kind and are you happy with it?
I've got well water where I'm at and I'd like to install a secondary filter in the kitchen.

We've had one for 3 or 4 years now it's a GE smartwater. We don't have well water, but the town water had a bad metal taste. Now no problems, even passed a taste test with my finicky wife, a cup of poland springs vs. the tap, and the tap won.
if you install one, make sure its secured well, it can be a bit difficult to unscrew(get the fitted wrench, it makes unscrewwing much eaiser) and that could lead to bending/breaking the waterline feed.

we have a GE bought it at homecheapo its in the cellar
i had a culligan for three years and it was very good.
it got ripped [along with everything else] out when I remodeled, and I probably won't put it back in as my new fridge has filtration.
but some sort of filtration for drinking water is a must with my well.

I have one even though we have town water. It basically came with the house.
Personally, I can't taste any difference between the filtered water and the water that comes out of the tap in the upstairs bathroom. They're both pretty good.

I'm just wondering what is driving you towards getting a filter. Is there something wrong with your water, such as taste? Have you tested it recently? It's pretty inexpensive - $30-$40, ask your well guy. My well water is great, just a little high in sodium, but that's what you get on the cape.

Oddly enough the water tastes fine, we do have a filter system inplace for the well. It's just that every couple of weeks we start to see a blue residue building up in the tub. We had him retest it but he claims it tests fine. He says, "maybe it's the fixtures"....:hs: I don't buy it.
Anyways, I figured I'd install a secondary filter in the kitchen where we get most of our drinking water supply.
Thanks for the feed-back -
Bloo.....what exactly was the water tested for? do you know?
