How old should a one of your kids be before you have them babysit your younger kids ???

My sister god love her used to let the 10 yr. old watch the younger one after school, not at night. When I found that out I was pissed. No kids though so I have nothing to guage against.

13, if they are mature and responsible, never if they're not.

13 or 14 if responsible. Heck, as some others have said....some adults should not even be in charge of watching young children!:uhoh:

I started when my Son was 12. 1st we started by just going out for Breakfast. Now we go out for a couple of hours maybe on a friday night for a bite to eat and a drink but thats about it. My son is 13 and he is pretty responsible.

i was watching my friends kids...10 yr old boy +13 yr old girl, while they went on an quick errand....right...

just so there was an adult at home... all bases covered ect.

well wouldn't ya know it...that stupid kid suddenly goofed around
and wacked his forehead (within 5 minutes)
on the top surface of an inch thick glass coffee table...
that raised such a huge bump on his head i thought he was growing a unicorn....horn

so not ever having had any experience like this before..
except doing it to myself once while on my bicycle.... i freaked out because
i felt responsible yet there was nothing i could have done to prevent it.

i'll never watch kids ever again :whackin:

some peoples kids .. Wait until you start getting involved in your kids activitys .. baseball,, scouts ,,karate,, whatever .. Some parents just dump thier kids and screw as fast as they can .. Same ones are late pickin thier kids up .. You'll be standing in a dark parking lot with a kid you hardly know,waiting for a parent you don't know at all .. Oh Yea ... and after a year or even 6 yrs. of this don't expect a big thank you either .NADA. Some kids parents really suck ..

You are a special breed Ed. These said parents don't know how good they have it. I would have blown a gasket at them. I know it isn't the kids fault that those parents suck. My hat is off to you.:claps:

I'd walk or ride my bike to get to and from places.
These are a greater number, these days of couch potatoe computer playing kids that are to lazy to walk or ride a bike.
Baby sitting age is dependent upon the individual and enviroment.
