That's right, Aquaskinz can now sell their Surf Bags and Accessories for less because their costs are now less. Aquaskinz as a company has been growing. At this point they have grown enough to manufacture higher numbers of products resulting in lower per piece costs. This week Aquaskinz released their 2007 catalog and pricing. Materials are the same, Quality is the same, Prices are less.

Aquaskinz has always had a controlled minimum pricing to protect the small shops from internet and industry giants. For 2007, instead of raising the prices they were able to actually drop most of their prices. The following is what we, as consumers should be paying.

Large Surf Bag (double row) $95 Medium Surf Bag (single row) $78
Small Surf Bag (reg height) $43 Small Surf Bag (tall version)$47.50
Large Belt Pouch $23 Small Belt Pouch $27
Wader Belt/Back Suppport $20 Black Thunder Gloves $20

***NEW Wader Belt w/ Velcro Adjustment $10.50

Though I definately have a relationship with the company, I tell you what, put the Skinz Single Row Bag at $78 next to the single Row VS, Bronko, Canyon, BW etc. It don't take a smart man to see where you should spend your money.

Pat,
You should change that title for this tread,
I would think the guys from Aquashinz are pretty nice guys,
but ask anyone who really knows Boch, one of the biggest a**holes on the planet, Junior and his dead old man both !!!

Nice, In light of the new less expensive bags That are hitting the market. It really does not make any sense to get a knock-off when the reel thing is only slightly more expensive..
Only real problem I see is what does a tackle shop do with older inventory??

NIB, I am only Pro Staff for the Company and no longer sell. That being said, all of the info I posted here is now Public Knowledge. I just wanted to share the latest info with the S-B community as many members here have been loyal customers. I do know that the few shops that have inventory left over from 2006 will not get hurt by this price decrease.

As far as this being an advertisment. Maybe. However, as has been noted, Aquaskinz and a few Aquaskinz dealers are sponsors here. In addition, there are many threads on this site discussing products, prices of and sources for those products. Finally, though most fishermen do not take the following info into account when making a purchase, Aquaskinz may be the only bag and or apparell manufacturer that donates directly to fundraisers of all sorts on this site and to many of the recreational fishing organizations that we all belong to and count on to enhance and protect our sport.

Aquaskinz is a sponsor, I'm a user, and BP is my fellow loud snorer, OK more accurately he's THE Loud Snorer and my CPAP Buddy :hihi:

Seriously, you got a bit of flak on the Z thing because I can see how a lot of people would read your posts as schilling for Z Reels.

Any fishing product, whether from sponsor or non sponsor, is encouraged for good open and honest debate provided it does not get into a major FLAME war (that was way minor) and provided it is not intended to pull off free & abusive commercial :spam: promotion. So paying sponsors can :spam: because they are our sponsors and help keep the lights on. Commercial entities (non sponsors) are encouraged to come to S-B to participate in our community as MEMBERS of our community, but not to come here to get free advertising (if I ever hit Powerball and can retire, all funds will go to charities instead - until then they keep the lights on :tooth: ).

We get spammed a lot here. Some people are so ingenious to think they can anonymously register and pitch a product as one of the good 'ole boys and generate free advertising. People here are very good at sniffing that out and are spamaware. It actually gets so bad to the point of being humorous. We've had people go so far, cough cough Marine Tropical, as to blame their teenage daughter for spamming S-B to avoid getting caught by the spamcops...

Oooops - ramble warning...

Kadir's a stand-up guy who supports the community... and makes products all surf- men need! Now with lower prices, no reason to buy the wanna- bes/ knock- offs (if any existed before)...

The Skins gloves (a steal now at $20.!) saved my normally badly- chafed Fall hands! They're like a second skin: I can easily tie double- improved clinch knots wearing them! (the only mono. knot I trust!).

Agreed the thread needs to be renamed...

both jackets look nice. i've been looking for a jacket like the n'oreaster for some times. it's tough to find a jacket with water tight cuffs that a wading belt will fit over. the other jack will be tempting too.

No neck gaskets (I don't think) but I'm pretty sure both new jackets feature latex cuffs, which are REAL waterproof. Survival suit waterproof.

Right, I been fishing with a ten yr old goretex jacket that just aint cutting it anymore.I use my AS drytop but I like a hoody when it's warm an I can expect to only get moderately wet.The hood is nice when it rains an will be on the short list of things to get when they come out..

I hate BOSTON MEDIA WHORES!!!!!!
Ernie Boch is the best of the list (I like him OK).
Anybody ever notice that him, the Andleman Bro's (who I plan, not hope on beating up some day), the Kowloon Guys, and Charlie Moore travel in packs???
Why not the Bomba Bros...we'd be much more appreciative of the attention.
I will anounce our master plan at the TFCTFN.
Thanks,
Rick

What comes first on Phantom Gourmet, an advertisement and then a good review or the other way around? Either way the Andlemans are in bed with all of their sponsors especially Kowloon.

SEMI_DRY?????
that concerns me

Semi-dry top is a standard industry term which generally implies there's no water tight neck gasket. Wrists are often water proof or at least water resistant in a semi-dry top.

True dry tops have both waterproof neck and wrist gaskets. Semi-dry tops are a better fit for anglers who don't want or need the wrestling match involved in putting on a dry top.

Price, as a rule, has nothing to do with differentiating a dry top from a semi-dry top. They are different products.

I love My AS drytop,It has served me well.
I really don't need the gasket around my neck.
I had to go 3 x just so it would be comfortable around my neck.
I don't wanna cut it as it serves a purpose for me when I need it.Most times though I just prefer a nice lightweight jacket with a hood so I can bow to block any water comin over my head an for when it rains..
This will fit the bill nicely.

Every morning in the parking lot of the coffee shop I would nearly pass out whilst taking off my dry top. No sh*t, purple face and all.
What a struggle.

I like their gear. I have had good luck with it and use it pretty hard. The company has stood behind their product and actaully repaired something for me at no charge. IMO that says a lot today. It is nice to see a company that specializes in surf fishing gear... few do. The bags and tops are solid items but the little items have impressed me the most...ie. the hood, the gloves eel bag, pouch... all these little items make for a much nicer experience when the conditions are ugly.

best money I spent was for the wading belt with the back support. My back used to ache after a few hours. Something so simple makes a big difference. I was thinking about attaching a rod holder to it so that I could stick the rod in it and i could free up my hands while fishing or climbing up bluffs. Could that work Kadir?

Hey guys,

Sorry for the late reply, been doing many shows and club presentations and a little fishing :bl:.

The new products will be available by mid-April so keep an eye out for them. The two new jackets have done real well in field testing....so much so the testers did not want to givem back :wid:

There is also a new wading belt (without the back support) that a lot of you requested and a new offshore chum bag with some cool features.

And as Patrick mentioned, we have worked very, very hard at getting better pricing so that we could offer the same quality products at lower prices.

We appreciate your continued support and look forward to seeing many of you at the upcoming shows!

Regards,
Kadir

John Wayne would have used this rod holster if he was a fisherman. It is also a wading belt or ankle wrap rod holder plus it is padded. Plus a pouch for pliers.
