I guess I could use my flyrod like most others do there, but I'd fish a dropping tide at dusk with a 1087,14 fireline, small needles, chartreuse work well, I'd walk in from the left like I usually do, but you can fish the right side too. That's an old pic so it doesn't look like that now. Wade out and wear a pfd, toss danny's to try for the bigger fish or you may end up with just schoolies. Sluggos on a jighead at times. There are so many ways to fish there depending on the tide, time of year, wind, waves etc. Pick a different inlet maybe:faga:

Drift eels out. Freespool about 75yds, pop into gear lift the tip up and wait till you feel the eel coming towards the surface. Reel in and repeat.

I don't know how you would but I cuaght a 46 and 44 pounder there on three casts in 1990 November to be exact, On a black with scale Gibbs Darter. Last 3 hours of the outgoing. Of course back then it still came out between the jetties.

Me and Slip got fish there on Needles this fall but they were all dinks. Great Thanksgiving thru December flyrod spot.:uhuh:

I'd go way, way up inside with a 5 wt to look for those legendary escapees from the Hatchery. Maybe just to see if they realy exist ;)
