Doing both here for the last 17 years taught me a lot about waves and structure and water. Surf by day, fish at night.
Which is more fun???

I "kayak" surf, ...but this spring I'm thinking longboard

When I go out always have one plugrod and the small gearbag on board.Cannot be OTW without tackle. From July to the end of the season I'm launching and doing most of my serious kayakfishing from the beachfront.

Outer cape on big days = daybreak to fish, daytime to surf. :D

I haven't surfed on 35 maybe 37 years and dearly miss not doing so.

Likwid outer cape on big days? That used to be about twice a year in the sixties.

a few buddies from school surf and they will give us a call when they see fish. They were surfing one location and said there were bass all over the place. we went there and ended up killing them for the next week or so in that one spot. Sufers and surf fisherman are drawn to the same type of structure

Surfing is my other obsession in life. This winter has sucked big time, which is kind of depressing, surfing helps to make the winter go by a lot faster.

It makes a good combo especially if you travel . Places like Mex can dish up some serious surf and fish combos that make for a little slice of heaven. Uh, except for beer and girls.

We've had some good weather the past couple years stirring it up.

March usually gets a good swell or two. NH Point break.

Ya, march april and the begining of may are usually my favorite times to surf in new england. Consistent waves and not the usual frigid temps. Hopefully with this warmer weather this week will shake things up. I can't stand the 25 degree days with that obnoxious 30knt nw wind.

Other than my youth its the only thing I miss from my youth.

I used to surf 12 hours a day if I could during the summer. I used to thumb to the ocean from the bayside in Eastham with a 9'6' G & S board and believe it or not people would stop and pick up the little surfbum kid just to meet me. I don't know whether surfing or carrying the board all that distance got me in better shape.

In high school I would drive to Nantasket aftre school in January if I didn't have to go to work. Man the looks I would get from people during the day in school when my G & S was on top of my car in the parking lot.

Last board I had was a 6'8" Sunshine, probably long out of business by now, but it was a great riding board.
