So.....I'm watching my son this week as it's school vacation....
We're off to get him a haircut but he says he's hungry so we go to McD's for breakfast....
I'm waiting for my food and I notice the counter person wiping trays..
I say to her, "Don't those go in the dishwasher?"
She replies, "Only at the end of the night, during the day, we just wipe them with a rag that's dipped in sanitizer."
She's got no gloves on and she's wiping the edges of these trays - a big stack - and she's dipping nothing. :yak5: :yak5: :yak5:
I've had eel rags that looked cleaner than what she was using.

That's why I don't eat out that often......nevermind at McD's. I make exceptions for Wendy's but it's bagged.

I love McDonalds.
When I worked there (oh..15 years ago now?) - there were bugs and mice everywhere, we would drop meat on the floor and use it, same with buns...

Ever notice that a McDonalds will be torn down and then rebuilt in the same spot? Rebuilding costs less than admitting health violations and losing buisness.

Watch "Super Size Me" and READ (not watch) "Fast Food Nation" for every reason not to step near a McDonalds ever again

Any place that sells burgers that they have to "add " the flavor back after the cooking process is out for me.
The closest I get to fast food joints is the rare KFC takeout.
Other than that, if I don't make it, I don't eat it.

My Ol lady will take my boys there almost once per week and I frigging hate it. She says its just easier some times to go to the drive through than to make a sandwich for the road.

I am out of shape, but I dont eat at those places. I am just a good cook.

I'm not a big fast food fan, never have been, never will be. I watched Supersize Me last year, and it just disqusted me. And then hearing about the trays, etc. The once every 6 months, will become a once in never again.

No fast food for me!!!
However, maybe once every 3 or 4 months when the grandkids are over, I will take them to McD's for a hamburg!!! I get two of those dollar cheeseburgers and within 3 hours of eating them I will have the shi@#t so bad that it is worst then when I have the stomach flu!!!
It is a good way to cleanse your stomach out though!!! What is in those burgers??? I probablt do not want to know!

As an aside, the new deli style sandwiches at Wendy's aren't all that bad if you get them light on the mayo.

I avoid most fast food, unless I'm thinking outside of the bun :hee:

But being on the road it can be difficult at times.

there was a story a while back about mcd employees that were spanking in the special sauce for big macs.

I'll stop at McD's if my kids want something, but never to eat there, I rarely even go in anymore. Turns me off when the floors have that greasy feel when you walk on them and that the tables usually look like they were wiped down with the same grubby cloth they had been using on the trays for the past week. That being said, there is one Wendy's (spot burn-Old Townhouse Rd, So. Yarmouth) I'll stop at just because it is rarely crowded and always extremely clean - trays, floor, counter, tables, bathroom, the whole place. The counter help could use some customer service lessons, but their salads are pretty good and my kids even usually stay away from their double and triple coronary bypass burgers. Like others said, anymore if my family wants to order out, be it Chinese, pizza/subs, fried chicken, I like the challenge of whipping up something comparable for myself in the comfort of my own clean, germ free, English speaking kitchen.

It took the wiping of the trays to discourage you from eating there. What the ppl sticking half the tray into the trash cans there to empty them didnt tip you off????

Now think about that... Theyre jamming half that tray into the trash can to empty it out right.... Ok so now they stack that tray ontop on the trash can. Then you get a nice stack of a bunch of tryas. The bottom of each tray has been inserted into a trash recepticle... Then they're rounded up, placed on the counter and wiped with whatever nasty rag they managed to get from the dude flipping burgers... (they actually dont even flip them anymore, they have clamshell grills that cook both sides at once) Yeah I stick to getting my food in a paper bag, if I have to get burger dirt type food.
