Hey all,

One thing I've been working on is a more user friendly message board and wondering what you all think...
<a href="http://striped-bass.com/cgi-bin/Ub2k/UltraBoard.cgi" target="_blank"><!--auto-->http://striped-bass.com/cgi-bin/Ub2k/UltraBoard.cgi</a><!--auto-->

Check it out and let me know. Colors and all will change and I'm trying to convert the old thread data (from this board) to correctly show in the new one....

Thanks,

John

I would only like to make one request. Please see if you can make the changes required to indicate which threads actually have NEW messages. I know with my own board, I have the option of marking the forum as read before I exit. When I return, if I don't see any folder icon indicating there are new messages, I don't have to bother opening up any of the threads. If there are when I open a message board, those threads with new messages are clearly marked. I hate having to open any thread I've been following, in order to determine if there are new posts.

That change would really be nice, at least from my point of view, especially when time to visit is limited. Tight lines John.

Got, this board has it too, at least on my computer. New topics or posts with new messages come up with a black "New" with a gold outline. Sometimes it doesn't work and it puts all the messages as New. I think this is a glitch with my computer and when I delete my history periodically. But overall, I can't complain about this message board and I like the other board too. It really doesn't matter to me.

John,I kind of like the format you're currently using.It sets you apart from the rest of the boards,the colors and font style are easy on the eyes.Being a virtual computer illiterate,I have no idea if the new style has any technical advantages over what you're currently using.

I like the new look, it's format is something we are all familiar with. Your current message board is (in my opinion) difficult to navigate and cumbersome to use. I would welcome the new format and would certainly visit more.

Waiting for your message board graphic to load then having it open another window is disconcerting...

Suggestions and criticism are offered with the best possible intentions!
