After five years of looking and weighing price vs project boats, I have found the right one.
1993 Grady White 20' center console with '93 200 Yamaha 2 stroke.
Garmin Gps, vhs, stereo, leaning post with rocket launchers, head, livewell, swim platform. Price is right.
I got on it today(door in shrink wrap) for first time and it is cherry! (cleaner today than my brother's boat ever is...) Trailer is OK, but would be used only twice a year anyway. Went through the work orders on it for the past five years, and everything was done religiously. No crazing anywhere on the hull or deck. This boat was hardly used! I was shocked at what good condition it was in considering what he was asking for it. (I did have first right of refusal on it after I heard he had gotten a 24' Regulator, way under market value)
Have to do some research on the 93 Yamahas, but if it checks out I hope to take delivery in early May! I will consider adding T top, but after putting a few hours in it first.
Any info on the 93 Yammies out there?

Yami's are great engines. My buddy is still running his 87' 150HP.
still running strong too.

Is it carbureted? I ask because that is the only issue he has sometimes. The carbs clog up and have to be replaced or cleaned out is possible. Some kind of tiny hole or jet that gets gunked up.

But that being said---GOOD LUCK and enjoy.
If we can help ask away.

Great find!!

My first was a used Grady 20. You can do 1 person trips with ease but also have a bunch of experienced guys on there, all fishing. Also, there won't be many days when you realy can't go out with her, if you use your head.

nice boat, thats a popular motor so parts should be plentiful.
I'd get a kicker or seatow/some tow service and run her till she stops.

Congrats!!!!!!!!!

I had a 1989 Yamaha and they are great motors!! Just keep the oil injection in ck all the time!
They don't like to run permix as they are not jetted for it and foul the plugs fast if you do.
My guy told me to run a 50:1 mix first tank on the season, this will insure that you see the oil injection working, and lube everything nice after a long winters nap.
The first year that I didn't do that, the oil injection must have clogged up over the winter or something, but it was the first trip of the year, injection didn't work and now the motor doesn't either :bc:

I am sure it is a great boat & Motor!! and it will give you many years of fun!! Good Luck!!

Tackle storage under leaning post is well laid out.

Think I am going to strip the striping that comes on the hull from Grady. Might leave their name/logo on aft quarters. Service yard says I should leave it all on for resale. WTF? I am just buying it, what do I care about a vinyl stripe for the next owner???? What do you think?

Night,
Personally I like the stripping. Is it dock worn or coming loose? Does she come with any electronics? A fine looking vessels, Grady's Best of the Best, again, 6 yrs in a row, I think. Congrats.

200 Yamaha is fuel injected, looks brand new under the cowling.

complete Blue chip set with the Garmin 188C. Jensen stereo/CD with amp, with water proof cover, Bose speakers, Cube speaker on console for new HorizonVHF, four flyrod holders, 12 other rod holders and rocket launchers, not one, but two swim ladders so looks symetrical and longer. All cushions and center console cover in great shape. Owner had the leaning post moved aft one inch, it's perfect. He went through the boat with me today in detail, an showed the little custom things he did to it. Well thought out. Dual axle trailer is better than I thought, and he did the brakes last spring. You couldn't ask for a more thorough/almost anal owner to be buying a boat from. Getting very excited as we have a deal now.

Close in two weeks!

Found a pic of sistership that had removed the striping. Think I'll do the same, like the clean lines without it.

Survey was good, minor issues. Will replace thruhull fittings, small grind and glass on battery shelf, and address cuts in skeg and port cavitation plate on lower crankcase... Had to test cold, keys not available. Will want to hold some back until it has been seatrialed. Close next week.

wrote out check last night. Closed by Tuesday. Then to register and get title changed over, insure, paint, change out thru hulls, etc.

Been awhile since I have done all this... Anyone want to do a checklist for what goes into a purchase and getting in the water? I feel like I'm forgetting something......

Yeh - don't think about for a couple days (right) and do a walk through on the boat :hee:

Google spring checklist for boat ~ or ~ maybe we should right one :grins:

A little something I learned this Spring. Before attempting anything else, go over every electrical connection. Clean every terminal, stud, clip, fuse, everything you want to work when you need it. I fussed with a poor dash ground for two weeks before taking the thing apart and actually looking. It looked fine together, was green between the lugs.
