I have several texts that says crime is normal with huge explanations why that is so. Those explanations always fell short to me though.

i read about each and everyone of those stories except for two...
mostly what's published on CNN...(i'm kind of a news junkie)
and i am soooo thoroughly disgusted :yak:
by it all.... especially the baby stabbed in the back and chucked out the window.....
and the parents lying about the kidnapped, sexually assaulted and murdered cute kid in Georgia. :hs:

the baby stabber should be hunted down like a rabid dog and shot on sight whether
he's armed and dangerous or not...in my opinion.

Swimmer they say for every barrel of apples theres always a rotten one in the bunch.... law of averages...

Three things that get me through this.............

1.) Grab my gear & go. few weeks to go yet.

2.) I drink. :gu:

3.) Until the water is 50° see #2

And don't watch the news.
It's either bad or wrong.

Don't let it get ya. The media learned a long time ago to appeal to people's lower nature. It peaks our curiosity, so we pick it up and read it ,or watch it in a movie or on tv. There is only one reason for it, $$$$. There are no true journalists, it's all about selling a negative story to make $$$. The result is a feeling of negativity about everything that goes on in our country and about ourselves. Politicans are personally attacked, relegion is bashed and everything that's good seems to be under attack. I really don't pay much attention to any of what is said by the pseudo intellectuals.

Meantime, good things are happening, people are helping others, but it all goes unreported. Just look what happens in this small S/B community when someone needs help. People respond imediately to help with unselfish motives. There are alot of good things happening and heroic acts in everyday life that go unrecognized and unrepoted by the media. There's no $$$ in it.

My issue is how this negativity affects our kids. They are bombarded with this negative stuff 24/7 and it is not giving them a true picture of what this life or our country is really about. I would not want to be growing up in the enviornment they have to live in.

Imho, the real enemy to our country is not so much from the outside, but from the moral decay inside. You can't have a generation of kids brought up with all this negativity and expect good things to happen. Best thing we can do for our kids is bring them up in a family atmosphere that will balance out the negative with the positive. I don't ever see the media, or anyone else doing it for us.

You mean the networks think were all Springerophiles, so they are just feeding our lust for the depraved. Very insightful, and friekin true.

You mean the networks think were all Springerophiles,

Ya Swimmer, Sprigerophiles, i like that, kinda like people are Springerized. :D

Even Dr.Phil who started with a good show to help people look at their better selves, has become sensationalized recently. Don't know this to be true, but i bet his audience and ratings were slipping.

He sold out. :(
