I understand that the earth is a tough place to live when your low man on the totem pole... but this first episode was kinda rough.

the baby elephant running into a tree because she was blinded by dust. the other baby following the mothers footprints in the wrong direction... oofa

the footage in this series is incredible so far though.

incredible to say the least....

it almost looks like (to me) that it's from an alien observer's
view......the way they capture the symmetry of nature...

mother nature being so diverse....

taking the 2 second clip and slowing it down to 47 seconds of the great white was amazing.

I didn't realize they were giving us multiple episodes in one night.. we have more to watch tonight :)

I liked it too.
Incredible footage.
I'll try to watch all the episodes.....but I'm sure I'll be comparing it to David Attenborroughs(sp?) series in the 80's.
Which I thought was fantastic.

I thought some of the footage was amazing....that snow leopard hunting in the rocks was awesome.

I do have one gripe about it though. I've been pumping it up to my Daughter to watch it with her. We were going to watch it together for the 11 parts.....because I thought the 11 parts were on for 11 weeks. I had to send her to bed after the 1st episode because its a school night. Wasn't a very Kid-Friendly time slot to be showing it in....can't let her stay up until 11...she'd never make it the next morning.

I hope they re-show it at an earlier time so she can watch it. She's already going to miss one episode next week because its on at 9

i have a sneaking suspicion that they did that on purpose. Show one to get you hooked and then offer the complete set on dvd for a small fortune.......just a guess

I feel ripped off. I assumed they were showing the same episode back to back like they usually do with these mega-hyped specials. I only watched the 8:00 show.

the island making ability of earth: as a piece of the earth's mantle slid
over a hot spot the volcano would erupt creating an island out of molten rock
then it (the island) cooled off and floated away.
then the whole process repeats itself.... incredible.
