My sisters boyfriend and I took a charter today with Capt.Gary Corsetti. It was by far the best trip for stripers I have ever been on. Gary is very personable, knowledgable, and hardworking. He goes out the night before to catch fresh bait, and it pays off. The conditions were perfect, and the swells were no match for Gary, and his new Contender. I caught a 28lb bass on our first drift. I lost count of the number of 25lb-28lb stripers I caught, it was more than 6, and my sisters boyfriend got about as many that size as well. We caught easily 30+ fish and all but maybe 2 were over 20lbs. It was funny to see that out of the 10-12 boats where we were fishing, that we were the only ones to consistantly hook up every drift, with many double headers. It was'nt great conditions for fluking, but since we were driving over one of his favorite holes, he asked if we wanted to try. We said sure, and put a couple of fluke in the cooler as well as a sea bass. I can't wait to get out with him again. If you have never fished with Gary before, you are truly missing a great time.

Nice Fish Monkey!
What kind of bait were you using. Been talking to a lot of guys slow trolling pollack; they've been doing well on bigger fish.
Not that big, though.
My brother and I have been fishing Rockport a lot lately with chunk herring. Lots o' keepers, but nothing huge.
We got a 15 and a 17 three weeks ago @ the cape. Those were the biggest.
Just have to replace the impeller in the boat and it will be ready to go just in time for vacation. Give me a pm in like two weeks, and we can hook up.
Congrats,
Rick:smash:

Mike it would have been awsome if you were there. I would have loved to have seen a fisheye view of what was going on.

Slip if ya got the cookies take the plunge... I want to go again.

Clammer you were right, I was'nt suprised at the amount of fish we caught. I was suprise at the size and quality.

I forgot to mention there was a huge cloud of sealice in the water it was amazing. Alot of the fish also were covered with lice. That is a good sign.

C-Ratt lets go fishing this week.

Glad you had a great day! Boat fishing is incredible sometimes. Your arms actually get tired hauling in fish. Even from a boat though , those are good size fish!

Good job Specialist. Sounds like a blast.

Was that local (Boston area) or did you travel for this trip?

Nice Job Specialist! :btu: - Told you you were gonna have a ball!

Schoolie - that definitely wasn't near Boston :D .... Definite Travel involved... Want to know where? (unless the islands in the back are disinformation :eek5: )

Live bait certainly makes a difference when the fish are around...

Yeah, that looked a little more "cape-like" to me, but I really don't have a clue.

No kiddin' Saltheart, those guys must have been hurtin' after that many big fish. I've had big schoolie days and big bluefish days and been beat up enough from that...

One of the best "aches" there is though :)

The hurt was good. I was beat when I got home.

There was no live bait involved in this trip. Some of the other boats might have been, maybe thats why they did'nt produce.

John you got a trip with him coming up?

Schoolie all aroud the Vineyard, and Elizabeths.
