Mr. Kav 07-22-2002, 07:07 AM didn't get out this weekend was wondering how you guys made out this weekend. i have a friend coming from bermuda next weekend and he wants to go fishing ( he has never seen a striped bass ). i was thinking chunks up in the rocks in the afternoon. what do you think?
It's been working for me.
Try your herring or macks.
Hook a live pollack and throw it near the rocks, that
works too.
I'll be on the water a few times in the next 2 weeks (vacation),
not sure about next weekend though.
Mr. Kav 07-22-2002, 10:48 AM thanks Van, i heard there were a ton of pollock out there this weekend. i will give you a shout on sunday and see if you are on the water,
Brooksie 07-22-2002, 11:45 AM I was out Sat. morning and Sunday night, Caught a 28" off Long Island and my buddy landed a blue out by the little Brewster. Other than that we had no luck. We are former Shore fisherman and Sat was our first time out on our newly aquired boat so we still have some learning to do.
BasicPatrick 07-23-2002, 08:13 AM Fishing for larger fish (over 36 inches ) has been on the slow side, but early in the mornings there has been a good sized school of fish working in the Anchorage area near spectadle and Long Islands
Patrick
Kav:
Missed you on Sunday, i didn't get out till mid afternoon.
I had the girls with me so we headed to neponset river and marina bay for an ice cream YUMMY.
Only fished for a short while with tubeNworm (the girls aren't into it)
I did have the radio on for a while, but it was extermely busy.
I shut it off in favor of music.
Went out today and found pollack at the stick and the brewsters, they worked well as did mack chunks.
Planning evening/night fishing this weekend (sunday) have to go to a cookout saturday.
Any suggestions, i gather you fish the evenings often.
Patrick:

Hope it works out well and quickly..
Mr. Kav 07-24-2002, 09:18 AM van, i sent you a pm with some info for night fishing
Kav:
I got the PM thanks, I'll let you know how I do. (Sunday night)
When you say the opening in the rocks at east of brewster, I think you mean the shag rocks?
I can try there and also see if I can figure out where that ledge is you mentioned.
I have a chart plotter and it should show it.
Mr. Kav 07-24-2002, 10:47 AM yes i was talking about shag rocks, i wasn't sure if you knew it by that name. a chart plotter will have that ledge on there it is a noname ledge that holds big fish sometimes. good luck.
STEVE IN MASS 07-24-2002, 02:32 PM Hey Kav, what ya doing giving away THAT spot?.....
Just kidding, I know a lot of people know it.....
"Steve......just pull, that CAN't be a lobster trap the anchor is hooked on!!".....as I
Good luck, Van.....it does produce.....
I hope to be able to go that night.
I'll try a few spots including Pt. Allerton.
There is also a nice hole not far from there between georges and B light. I've done well there in the past, but i haven't fished at night in a long time.
I'll let you know.,
Brooksie 07-25-2002, 10:16 PM Went out this morning around 4:30, we hit Brewsters, Point Allerton, the Light house, Long Island and the Back River and got NOTHING, not even a bite. :af: We used chunked Herring and did some trolling in the Back River. I must be doing something wrong as I'm new to boats. HELP!
Did you throw chunks into the rocks around brewsters?
Also do the same at Allerton, both these almost always produce. At Allerton, get your boat at the edge of that rip between the green can and the point so the bait goes right to it.
Mr. Kav 07-29-2002, 10:03 AM Van, i am not sure if you got my reply to your pm because my e-mail is acting up here at work. i am glad you got into fish at that spot.
