Raven 04-03-2007, 03:15 PM what? your roof is made out of gold? :btu: Sluggoslinger 04-03-2007, 04:13 PM what? your roof is made out of gold? :btu: You just read my mind. The only cars that you shouldn't put a canoe on the roof most likely wouldn't have a trailer hitch. ie beemer porsche Try looking for a jet ski trailer with a long tounge or you could cut off the winch part since you don't need that for a canoe. My neighbor took it this morning. Raven 04-03-2007, 04:39 PM we were workin in MIAMI...fla doing a lawyers office.... while on the job..... we took a piece of ply wood and transfered the roof's curve (shape) by getting it close then scribing it exactly to fit... giving us a frame that sat on .... but curved around the edge so the weight gets distributed to the cars full frame. just like the curved bridges do made from stone. i tell you this....because we carried unbelievable weight  on this frame 20 sheets of sheet rock or plywood like nuthin... :uhuh: and it was completely carpeted so it didnt even leave a scratch....no dents period and it was fairly light weight. anyone can make a car rack like this.... with a bunch of bungie cords to anchor it down to the body you can carry anything that way. BrianS 04-04-2007, 09:02 AM what? your roof is made out of gold? :btu: no.. but it might as well be.... ill be divorced if i scratch the roof of the new minivan. Raven 04-04-2007, 09:06 AM i wonder what it would cost ya to rent a canoe carrying vehicle for the day. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
