Im interested in korkers but im not sure how the K-5000 compares to the 1100's. Im sure the 5000 are better because they cost more but in what aspects are they better in? better grip, easier to change studs lasts longer etc.... any info from those with personal experience would be great.

The K5000 are not better in my opinion. Have buckles instead of laces. Also have screw in spikes which can be a pain to swap out when it comes time to replace them. Since the threads start to corrode.
I use the K 1100 PLUS series. They have more spikes than the regular 1100 series. And have push in carbide spikes that are easily replaced. Can also replace the laces easily as well.:kewl:

I have both ... although I had both as the lace ups were at my folks house and my mother is a fanatic about throwing stuff out if it's not used regularly.
That said, I only have the buckle ones, not as good, but still okay ... although I believe the 1100s and 1100 plus are less expensive than the others.

Sidenote: I have size 9 Bootfoot Orvis Silver Labels. The LARGE korker's fit perfect. The MEDIUMS as suggested in the chart came up short.

Used them both. I vote fr the 1100 plus - cheaper, lighter and studs aplenty. If your not a maintenance nazi, you will loose thread sockets on the 5000's due to corrosion.

I've had both and modified both with stainless screws.
The Buckle ups are easier to put on and take off but they are pretty bulky and heavy.
The lace ups are a PIA to put on and take off but they are much more comfortable and lighter.

Laceup - 5000 is more comfortable IMO but comes unglued at times... Hodgman Gladiators are good for the money and are a cross between the 1000 & 5000

Lace up,,,, I also did the stainless mod,,,,, I added a few fender washers on the boot side for the ones that would pull out and put a drop of locktite on the nut side to keep everything tight,,, I do know the stainless stuff wears down pretty quick if your on the rocks a lot,,,
Korkers 1100 Plus it is. I'll try that and see how it works out for me. Thanks alot to everyone for helping me.
