Went to do some work on a rod yesterday on my Clemens lathe and the pedal finally gave out. Rigged it up, put my foot on the pedal, and the motor just hummed, no movement on the rod. I pushed the pedal a couple morew times and the I smelled something awful. I looked down and my foot was covered in a thick white smoke. I quickly unplugged it all and threw the pedal outside. It was very hot and pretty much stunk up my whole house. So, I would assume the pedal is shot now. Does anyone know if I can use just a regular sewing machine pedal and where I could possibly find one? Would a place like Michael's Craft store sell these? I finally get some rod building energy again and this happens. :wall:

Toby check a place that repairs sew machines. You might want to bring that old pedal to make sure the plug is the same. There is shop up here in greenfield mass that does repairs if you can't find anything closer to you

Thanks Thom. I will see what I can find locally. I saved the pedal to bring with me so I can be sure I get the right thing.

make sure the pedal is rated for the hp of the motor
