View Full Version : Clemens To Pitch For The Yankees!
BigFish 05-06-2007, 02:20 PM They just annonced he has accepted terms to pitch for the Yankees this season! Bad move for him as he will not slow that sinking ship! Glad for us though cause I don't think we need him! He will do more for us there than he would have here!:rotflmao:
Uncle Matt 05-06-2007, 03:11 PM Son of a nutcracker! Ah frig the old man. He was a trader then and he's an even bigger one now. We don't need him now - we have Tavarez!!! Yeah right.
BigFish 05-06-2007, 03:36 PM We got more ponies in the pen than the Yanks do right now....even with the Clemens addition they are pretty bad.....poor middle relief is not gonna help Clemens much! He would have been better served in Boston with the staff they have, the bullpen and the lineup?!?!? He could have gone out a hero here! In Yankeetown he is just going to float away in the backwash!:jump:
Squid kids Dad 05-06-2007, 04:14 PM It's all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
riverrat55 05-06-2007, 04:57 PM Yeah!!! Pro-rated deal at 28 Mil!!!
It is about the money after all!!!
We will BOO the S$%# out of him when he comes and pitches at Fenway Park!!! (If he Dares!!!)
What a bum!!!!!!!!!!!
nightfighter 05-06-2007, 05:10 PM Just saw John Kruk on ESPN shaking his head, saying, "4.5 million a month......"
Squid kids Dad 05-06-2007, 05:48 PM I just keep shaking my head also..How much money does one person need????? Especially when your talking $24 mil after you have already "earned " millions in your carrer..And its not just Clemons..Its gotta stop sometime...I know all of us "regular" guys have said this before but give me a friggin break:lossinit:
Slingah 05-06-2007, 06:19 PM what a chitbag...:hs:
stripersnipr 05-06-2007, 06:37 PM Just one more reason that Roger and the Yankees suck.
ProfessorM 05-06-2007, 08:15 PM Really surprised he went there. He doesn't need the cash and if he wants to win another ring he has a better chance with the sox, I think. He must really hate Boston because it would have been storybook senerio for him to come back and win a ring with the team he started with. He will definitely pick the yankmee's cap to wear at cooperstown with this decision. I really never liked the guy, apart from his baseball accomplishments. He will probably go down as one of the top 3 pitchers in history, and well deserved, but kind of a %$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$ as a person. Good luck. Enjoy the money. I'll be pulling for you to break down at the worst possible moment. P.
vineyardblues 05-07-2007, 06:12 AM Everything Paul said :)
I liked the rocket in his hay day, and I wish him well in NY!
They will need the 10 wins that he may bring them...LOL

ProfessorM 05-07-2007, 08:06 AM Last night my wife tells me she has to entertain doctors at the company's luxury box at Fenway the 3rd of June. She is not a sports fan and always ask's me to come along, I know a tough job but someone has to do it. So I ask her who they playin. She say's Yankmee's, I say great, she usually doesn't get games with the big names. Now with Roger coming back there could be a good chance he may be pitching one of those games in the 3 game series. I'm excited. I will have to practice my boooing. P.
ThomCat 05-07-2007, 08:40 AM All that was said above about the advantages of being a Red Sox plus he could have won 1 game in a Sox uniform and become the winningest all time Red Sox pitcher, passing Cy Young. We know how big his ego is so that should have enticed him.:yak6: Maybe it's just that the Sox are not stupid enough to throw that kinda money at a 44 year old part time player. Not enough bad things can happen to the Yankees for me and HE'S a :behead: Yankee.
MrHunters 05-07-2007, 10:03 AM he was a 5 inning pitcher in texas and he thinks he's going to pitch like he was 25 in this division.
good luck bro.
Just call the yankees Florida.... everyone seems to live out their years there.
The ONLY reason i would have wanted him here this year was to retire in a sox uniform. Don't need him otherwise. 45 years old! I smell disaster waiting to happen.
Im more looking forward to see stieny's reaction... Did i hear that he hasn't been seen at the ballpark this year?
Mike P 05-07-2007, 12:01 PM I'm predicting that Pedro will win more games for the Mets than the Rocket will for the second best team in town--and Petey's not due back until August :rotfl:

you know...i think booing shows that we might have cared but are diappointed with his decision. Would it not be better for the stadium to just be silent when they announce him? Would that make more of a statement? Completely indifferent if you will...
Backbeach Jake 05-07-2007, 04:39 PM I'm with Professor M, can't stand the ignorant SOB but he's the best pitcher I ever saw. Can't deny him that. Soon to be 45 and gets 28 mill. Unfreakin' believable. His presence in the rotation isn't even close to pulling that pitching lineup together. He's the shiny bell on a train crash...
senkoman 05-08-2007, 05:12 AM :usd: Cool, whats wrong with that?

i heard on weei that he's been a die hard yanks fan forever...
ill give him a pass. no ones perfect, just bring us another trophy :musc:
