It has to be 30 years ago. I was about 11 at the time and an absolute fishing addict. For mothers day I suggested that my sister, Mom and I head to Grandma's at the bourne rotary. Just in case, I threw a few rods in the trunk. We swung by the Maritime after dinner and I witnessed something I had never seen or have seen since. There was a blitz of 3-6# POLLUCK! They were busting like bluefish, up and down the shore. Every cast with a metal produced a fish. It was amazing!! I have caught polluck since in the canal but never in those numbers or on top. Anyone else ever see this?

Rick you should talk to Angler #1 over there.. He talks about Silver Hake coming down the canal .. It was loud ,, you heard em before you saw them .. They were all skittering across the top trying to get out of the water with the bass hammering them all the way down the ditch .. I sure he would relate to you .

Might have. I remember pollock busting like mad in that pocket just east of the RR bridge. That could have been the time.
And Tagger, yes, that's absolutely true about the whiting.
