Well, I bought the boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits today and seeing as I have never used the stuff, What's the best way to store it with out burning the house down. I'm thinking a coffee can with a lid and some water in it for the oily rags. How much should I use to seal the plugs? It's a 60 -40 mix, if I remember reading in some of the posts. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again.

I keep the mixture in a 1 gallon paint can, purchased at home depot.
Instead of rags I use paper towels and throw them in the garbage. Never had a problem.
I can put a dozen or more plugs in the can to soak 15- 20 minutes, flip a couple times, then let excess drip off, wipe with paper towel, and hang for a week to dry, before primer and paint.

Any rags or paper towels soaked with this should be spread out to dry and not crumpled up and thrown in the garbage. When they are completly dry they can be disposed of.
