That has never happened to me before.. tattoobob 05-30-2007, 10:07 PM Once before the blues would only hit bait, the stripers would hit the plugs, I thought I was in the twilight zone spence 05-30-2007, 10:10 PM Probably just a lot of bait...they had other priorities :hee: -spence keeperreaper 05-30-2007, 10:59 PM Occasionally you'll run into blues just finning and sunning on the surface and they will have lock-jaw. It is very bizarre to witness but it does happen. EricM 05-31-2007, 01:05 AM Had it happen to me before. It is like entering the twilight zone ragfly 05-31-2007, 05:43 AM I actually had the same problem a few years ago, So in frustration I took off my wire leader and used a 60lb flouro leader....... fish every cast after that. I blue that was leader shy? I woldn't have beleived it unless I did it myself. fishsmith 05-31-2007, 06:37 AM Occasionally you'll run into blues just finning and sunning on the surface and they will have lock-jaw. That has never happened to me before.. Was the tide moving? Pete F. 05-31-2007, 10:18 AM I've had them hit a slow swimming sinking polaris type popper just below the surface, they would'nt touch one that was popped. hal brain 05-31-2007, 10:50 AM found a sh!tload of lazy blues off gay head, many sunning on the surface, others lazily picking away at small sand eels. The only way to really catch them seemed to be to hit them on the head and rip the offering across the surface. def not your typical bluefish behavior. RIROCKHOUND 05-31-2007, 10:52 AM I would count my lucky stars and go catch bass somewhere else!! blue oyster 05-31-2007, 07:46 PM i have run into that before , blues just sunning themselfs not in the mood to eat , last time that happened to me i put on the biggest popper i had and tossed it right in the middle of them i think they just hit it because i pissed them off Ake G 06-01-2007, 09:58 AM Yes! I have seen this so many times up here...lazy, and aloof just hanging out in the sun. Pissed them off w/the biggest surface plug in my bag worked right over them. Most spooked but it got their attention. daceman63 06-01-2007, 12:29 PM when that happens sink some chunk to the bottom under the school and see if a cow stirkes at it.... moosh 06-01-2007, 01:41 PM Thanks ,I thought I was in another world . at the time ... ThrowingTimber 06-01-2007, 06:46 PM They'd already fed. Note the location and try to get back there earlier the next day :bl: apparently you missed ALOT of feeding shadow 06-01-2007, 06:57 PM Occasionally you'll run into blues just finning and sunning on the surface and they will have lock-jaw. It is very bizarre to witness but it does happen.seen this myself a few times allways in the spring.sometimes there is alot of very small bait around as well.there are times when blues will be selective. likwid 06-01-2007, 07:08 PM Oh they bit today.
