Who makes the best vacuum sealer? What are you guys using and how does it work for you? I have heard some are much better than others and want to buy the right one the first time. Thanks.

It depends how much you want to spend and how much you use it. There are some sweet commercial models that are awesome but $$$. I have had a foodsaver proII for 6 years now. It owes me nothing. I have used far more in materials then the machine itself. (cost wise). I pack most of my bait and food with the thing and buy plastic rolls in bulk online. If you clean it it will last a long time.

The commercial models are better though. They don't "suck" bag air into the machine. Better for wet foods. Also don't require the special bags with a grooved surface to get all the air out. The comm models have a vacuum chamber and don't draw bag air into the machine and are thus more robust and expensive. However for the non commercial fisher and hunter and gardener I think the way to go is the special bag approach. The machine is not that expensive and stands up re4asonably well. Again you will spend more for the bags or rolls though. IMO these things are worth every cent.
