I have one of those automatic inflatable life jackets. It really small and goes around your shoulders. It has a co2 cartridge. The cartridge went of and inflated the life jacket last fall. Can these things be re rigged if so how. Do I bring it somewhere or is there a kit or something?

You can purchase the co2 catriges at wallyworls i just picked up the sospenders and set it to manual mode one of the places i fish is a little dangerous so i figured i'd be a little safer this year.If yours are just the automatic type contact the manufacturer as you have to get another part with the co2 if not like i said check out wallyworld i saw the kits their.

Some of the kits have both the CO2 cartridge and the dissolving tablet

Just dont install the tablet and use the manual pull if you get into trouble. You should always have two co 2 cartridges though. If it goes off you need a spare. Worth the money, the vest and the spare cartridges.

The automatic inflatible jackets have a plastic canister with holes that allows water to enter which disolves a tablet which then releases the trigger mechanism that perferates the CO2 cartridge.

Think of ideas to delay the passage of water through these holes, like

Reduce the opening of the holes by blocking with tape.
Place a small sponge in plastic canister that will delay the trigger.

If the vest inflated without you taking water in then it could have been the humidy.
