View Full Version : How was CH? Mr. Sandman 06-10-2007, 06:15 PM PM me if you don't want to post... thanks! JohnR 06-10-2007, 06:19 PM Slow - sprinkling of smaller bass with a few keepers up to the low 20s by Finnadict & TDF. Awesome time for most (there was a mechanical fatality which sucked), slow fishing and a lot of surf got pounded, plugged, and eeled. Love that Island though... RickBomba 06-10-2007, 07:18 PM Very rocky! I gottem skunked! One freaking hit the whole time. Kevin got a keepah??? Lots of really good guys who put Rappin Mikey's fishing work ethic to shame. Had a great time. Rick afterhours 06-10-2007, 07:25 PM ...heard it was gonna heat up starting tomorrow :hihi: :jump: BigFish 06-10-2007, 07:25 PM Rick...was there any partaking of alcoholic beverage??? Nebe 06-10-2007, 08:35 PM I'll be out there thursday through sunday :D RickBomba 06-10-2007, 08:39 PM Really only the first day...cut my finger up pretty bad on braid and decided that I needed a little less octane in the blood to be effective. Not too much out there boys...you guys gonna be in with some real blue-bloods tomorrow; not a surfstick among them. Later, Rick Mr. Sandman 06-10-2007, 08:53 PM I was thinking of you guys Friday night/Sat Morn while facing you fishing the north shore around 3:00am when a kick ass double bolt of lighting came down somewhere over the islands. :eek5: It was bright as hell for a second. I thought I 20 SB.com skeletons standing on the beach for a second. Finaddict 06-10-2007, 09:24 PM We started the long trek back to the club when we saw the lightening, but never really had it bad over the island ... at least not until 4/4:30 a.m. when I slid into my bed ... JohnR 06-10-2007, 09:38 PM I was thinking of you guys Friday night/Sat Morn while facing you fishing the north shore around 3:00am when a kick ass double bolt of lighting came down somewhere over the islands. :eek5: It was bright as hell for a second. I thought I 20 SB.com skeletons standing on the beach for a second. Yes, those first cracks of lightening were all that was needed to spur the second longest trek on that island back to the club... Finished that off with a little C&C - thanks Kevin  nightfighter 06-11-2007, 04:59 AM Good time, except the ride back home via boat beat the chit out of us. Our course home from the canal is due north.....right into the teeth of it yesterday. Went south of the islands through Woods Hole to avoid getting pounded all the way up Buzzards Bay, which worked out great, and got a nice push through the canal. Fishing has to pick up there, no? Really weird. Our fish had empty stomachs.... Clammer, take back your deposit, you PITA. she didn't charge for your room. You gonna need it.... Hope you get parts soon. All of them..... You gonnna do a commercial for Sea Tow? GBOUTDOORS 06-11-2007, 06:39 AM Hi Ross I was out Fri. and Sunday but missed you and the new boat. Good thing you went south as the bay was ugly all the way back home at 4:00 Sunday. Took an hour and fifteen min. to do what is a 20 min. run for me on a good day. I helped Clammer out Fri. as he waited for the tow. Nothing like the site of a motor torn in half to make you sick and weak in the knees. Hope he is able to get back on the water fast.:( nightfighter 06-11-2007, 07:09 AM Yeah, sorry to miss you Greg. I decided to beat feet out of there as the conditions were not going to improve. On Sat. AM, Fishpart and I recovered the main shaft and prop from Clammer's mishap. I got to see Mike for a half hour before Sea Tow pulled him out. Took me a bit to pull my jaw off the deck...... UserRemoved1 06-11-2007, 07:26 AM Fishing has SUCKED out there this year. what did clammer hit? nightfighter 06-11-2007, 07:32 AM That stone wall just outside the breakwater, starboard side, going out...... UserRemoved1 06-11-2007, 07:34 AM ugh that sucks nightfighter 06-11-2007, 07:41 AM Been there, done that. I can still hear the sound in my head from two years ago when I hit something in the canal....40' Frers, 8k over the bottom, 8 tons, stopped dead.... yeah it sux big time striperman36 06-11-2007, 08:00 AM Fishing has really slowed down in Buzzards bay. Best fishing was the week before Memorial Day. numbskull 06-11-2007, 03:21 PM I was at Wasque today. There is a huge biomass of bait (small sand eels)/bass/bluefish all over the place out there. Normally those fish would also be in Vineyard sound and along the islands. Turns out squid have been few and far between recently (according to the guy who runs the MBL's specimen boat). Without squid to draw them in, I think the majority of migrating bass are taking an outside route this year. With continued NE wind, I think Wasque will stay good through this week. stiff tip 06-11-2007, 03:37 PM numbie ....did u c any crabs swimming about on wasque ??? if so what color were they ...how was the crowds .. do u ever catch any fluke on tom shoals.... i,m try for sat ???? numbskull 06-11-2007, 04:41 PM No crowd, no crabs, fluke don't like me. Seen sturgeon jump out there though.....early May.....I suspect they breed there. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
