gone fishin 06-13-2007, 10:00 PM LL Bean lightweights and a pair of boots about a buk and a half. No question warranty.
ilovetwofish 06-14-2007, 05:49 AM Rock! Go through cabelas they warranty them for life. That is the only place i'll get them from. I send my breathable and neoprenes back every other year. My buddie sends his every year never had any problems.
i picked up some silver-label orvis attached boots...i think the boots have pretty poor traction compared to my neoprene ll bean waders...they are nice and light though...
Saltheart 06-14-2007, 08:26 AM I like the orvis breathables. they are expensive normally but they have sales every year where the price is cut in half. i believe they have a lifetime warrantee too. very light. I like the bootfoot though. for the fall when its cold i like the neoprene. I bought muy orvis down the cape. i think the store is between falmouth and hyannis. maybe just past teaticket in falmouth. Its a small store inside a big factory outlet type shopping plaza.
bloocrab 06-14-2007, 08:37 AM I think the Orvis store is in the Mashpee commons, not sure if it's still open but that's where it was...there's also another one somewhere near the Quincy Market in Boston.
I think your best bet (when financially possible), is to buy 2 breathables. Every pair will eventually leak, and it will be in the middle of the season sometime. If you own 2 pair, you never go with-out. This way you can send the leaky pair back and never miss a beat. If your 2nd pair leaks while you're waiting for the 1st pair to return, you're just plain unlucky and should give up fishing all-together. :buds:
I have 1 pair of ORVIS and the 2nd pair LLBean.
No questions asked from either party on returns. I've actually driven up to the store in Boston and had them replaced on the spot with minimal questioning.
reelecstasy 06-14-2007, 08:52 AM I have 2 pairs of Orvis silver labels, I love them..
and they are 25% off right now, the one at Quincy market is at the end of the string of stores. Call first for your size though, I took the last pair of XL's ;)
parker23 06-14-2007, 09:29 AM The Simms are great. I bought a pair 3 seasons ago. I wish I had them 20 years ago when I was on the beach.
numbskull 06-14-2007, 09:41 AM Anything other than Simms are made in China by someone who isn't likely to be held responsible if they leak........so they do. Pay more, buy the Simms, and be happy.
mrstriper 06-14-2007, 09:57 AM The store at the mashpee commons does not sell any gear...they recently went to clothing only
steve 06-14-2007, 03:09 PM Orvis silver labels with felt soles with studs are good.
capecodkid 06-14-2007, 03:39 PM Take a look at LL Bean. Nice waders with a nice warranty.
basswipe 06-14-2007, 04:41 PM Cabela's Gold medal.
