Unbelievable night last night w/ pogies on the bay. First hook-up came 10 seconds after dropping the pogie in the water and the action was constant.
The highlight (besides catching the fish) was watching one particular bass play. After snapping at the poor pogie a couple of times she decided to pretend she was a seal with a ball and smacked the pogie 6 feet into the air. She smacked it so hard she killed it instantly.
The hilarious thing was that she got bored with it after she killed it and never ate it.
Anyway, it was a great night. I'm lucky enough to be marrying a woman who, when I ask her what she wants to do on a Saturday night, frequently answers: "go fishing".
Here's a typical fish from the evening.

nice fish.......weight?

Heavy enough so that Carolyn struggled to carry it to the car. It was 37" and fat. 20lbs + ? maybe 25. I didn't weigh it, but it was a nice fish.

Bet she's just saying that to bait you in. Once, your'e hooked, she'll change her mind.

Are you speaking from experience? I'd still be marrying her if she didn't love to fish. The fact that she loves to watch a live pogie get eaten is a bonus.

Very cool story. I have met the bride to be a few times and she seems to be a genuinely enthused participant in pogie carnage.
Her eyes light up when she talks about snagging pogies and watching the “dance of death” just before the strike.
She is a very good catch as is Jonas!

Nice job, both on the fish and the story. A partner at home and on the water, perfect.
