I think thats what those little 5 inch red fish with sharp teeth are called. Theres tons of em in the harbor i fish out of and can snag easily... Ive tried them before for bass but no luck... has anyone else had any luck with them???

I 've caught gillions of stripers with choggies in them. I tried livelining one a few times but no luck. I bet if anybody used them for bait on a regular basis they would work. Hmm... which one of you wood guys is gonna make the first choggie plug?:smokin:

very interesting, cause i see them all the time when tryin to grab some scup for bait. never woulda thought a bass would nail them but then again, u find sea robin and loads of other things in their fat bellies when u gut them!

Big bluefish love them in deep water.
Never caught a bass on them.

Mako, really they are ocean perch? No way I just had a bunch of ocean perch fillets. I've actually kept one big cunner once and I never woulda guessed. Their meat is really sweet but totally not worth the effort to prepare - scales tough as armor and very prickly spines.

Nailed several in the canal the other day. I did live line one for a short time, but there weren't any fish around anyways, chits and giggles.
