unfortunately, there will be NO alcoholic beverages served at the EXPO, that was a stipulation from the venue! Go figure, a college refusing to serve alcohol!!! Isn't that why most people went to college :laugha:

BigFish 12-11-2007, 07:37 AM Do they have bait and tackle in bars?? But you go there anyway!:tooth: Its a fishing show.....go, buy your gear, meet with friends and then stop at some of the great restaurants and bars that are just outside the grounds!

Stonehill is a great location being right off route 24 and pretty centrally located. And I live in Easton, so it's convenient for me.:) Stoneforge has a great bar, and it's big. The restaurant is a little upscale, but the bar attracts all types. Fishermen in late winter/early fall will fit in fine there among the young co-eds. Great selection of beer on tap and by the bottle. The 99 bar is o.k. as is Owen O'Leary's right down the street. Doyle's on route 138 in Easton is a little futher away, but has very good seafood and a hopping bar with some bartenders that are easy on the eyes. I've never been to Buddy's, but I have thought about stopping in to check it out when driving by.
BasicPatrick 12-11-2007, 11:31 AM Hey guys,
With a very hard emphasis on the aspects that always make the MSBA show special, this show will have a vey similar feel to the shows at Bob's and the Braintree Armory, just bigger.
The concessions are run by and for a charity sports camp and will be cheeeeap!!!! MSBA heard the comments about the food prices and made that a priority at the new venue. The burgers are closer to $3 and not $12, so bring the neighbor's kids too.
As always Free parking means you pretty much gain $10-$12 more dollars to spend (hey that's a plug) then you can at any other show.
We just put up the web site www.msba.net/expo so you can keep updated on things as they progress. We are working on some pretty cool features that have not been seen in many many years. Look for these (if they work out) to be announced after the first of the year.

chris L 12-11-2007, 11:53 AM can I get in free with my college id ?
While I always look forward to the Mass show and I hope my schedule offers me the time to drive up.Especially to see all the folks from here All good people..
It won't be the same without John Habs there.
He was worth the price of admission...
Without a doubt he would want us to enjoy ourselves so I guess thats what we do..
It certainly will be weird..
I think we should buy a Table in his memory..
So...Is there gonna be a plug building section this yr..???
That was fun when it was in the old place..
Chris in Mass 12-12-2007, 06:53 AM No Sweat - wasn't a requirement - looking forward to the new venue!

Uncle Matt 12-12-2007, 02:19 PM Oh no I still think I'm banned from that campus. I'm not kidding either. No booze? Well the hits just on coming....

I would be up for that. I was thinking that would be nice especially for the RISSA show. I'm in for some bucks to support either.
Sea Dangles 12-12-2007, 03:32 PM The RISAA show will have a HAB'S booth.
The RISAA show will have a HAB'S booth.
thanks
Great !!!! it's got to bebetter than Foxboro. I only have on question. Do they have porta-potty's?
BassDawg 12-12-2007, 08:44 PM The new venue sounds great!
While it was nice to see Gillette, the Frozen Razor, last winter and the seminars were very good, the place seemed very disjointed to me.
It had sort of a sterile feel, and was not very inviting. Sounds like a more attendee friendly, exhibitor friendly location.
The distance is no problem for me as I would drive hundreds of miles to attend the MSBA Winter Show. I live on the NShore and cannot think of a better reason to go to Easton. Never seen the campus, and it sounds like the food problem will be resolved. Nice move supporting local youth sports, since the school systems can't seem to figure out how to support themselves.
Am looking forward to meeting some more of the faces here and would be willing to help with any setting up or breaking down that is needed. I'll prolly already be a MSBA member by the time of the Show, as I am seriously considering joining your fine group of anglers.
Be that as it may, congrats on finding the new place and good luck with the rest of the plans as this year's show comes to fruition.

Awww go S*(& in your hat
BasicPatrick 12-12-2007, 11:14 PM To all interested in a Habs Memorial at the show,
I am no longer the Committee Chair and am only serving as a "mentor" this year. That being said, If S-B, an independant group of anglers etc. etc. approach MSBA about a respectful and classy memorial, I am sure there would be no charge for the space. MSBA puts up/displays it's archives every year to remember our sport's history. I have already been looking through the MSBA photo albums for a pic to be turned B&W, have blown up and added to our pics of Stan Gibbs, Bob Pond, Ted Williams etc.
Please speak amongst yourselves and when ready, contact me directly and we could move forward.
JohnR 12-12-2007, 11:47 PM Been thinking about something like this and need to talk to Joe then Jess...
