So, some friends from the south (Texas that is) of mine were saying the hot color now for trout and reds is "Texas Chicken". Also known as #74 in the Mirro-Lure catalog.
I made these two spooks for the trip back to Galveston next month. they are 3.5" and weight in at 3/4oz. They are weighted a tad before the butt end and sit awesome.
Can't wait to fish these guys.
Shannon and I also lucked out. We hired a guide for one day who just happens to be a FLW redfish tourny guy as well as a Troutmaster tourny guy who loves fishing topwater. I told him about the lures Shannon and I make and he was thrilled to take us out. Heck, he didn't even ask for a deposit
