I need a set of good outrigger clips. Currently the ones I have do not have enough tension to troll my spreader bars. Does anyone have any suggestions? I looked at the Rupp Knock out clips. Does anyone have any experience with these?

the best are blacks. I use #64 rubberbands in a snapswivel. Easy to use and cheap. works great.

knock outs suck, i had them on my grady. there's 2 different adjustments that no-body can seem to figure out so there allways either too loose or too tight.
i agreee with the #64 rubber bands the best. no false releases.
it sucks when you have to slow down and re-set because of a false release..again and again..

I've used roller trollers for years, never had a problem. You do need to hit them with a good lube at the beginning of each season. I also use them for flat line clips.I only use rubber bans when using tag lines (and I rarely use them anymore).

I use Nok-Out and have never had an issue, can troll big bars with ease.

I have knock outs also,
but adjusting them is tricky,
On a rough day, they can release too easily, and if you tighten them too much, you will bend your pols (I have) because they don't release easy enough when a fish hits!

Broke one, and replaced them with the Aftco roller trollers. Unfortunately they are the new style, and I don't like them as much (they're just ok). The older style roller trollers (where the tension control is a silver dail in the middle) are much better if you can find them.

I think I read that AFTCO is now making both the new and old styles, since a lot of guys didn't like the new ones.

When using the rubber band are you bypassing the release clip all together? What is the breaking limit on a #64 rubber band? Is my diagram correct?

something like this.
put the rubber band arround the main line, double it back on itself, twist it arround itself a bunch of times, then put the little loop end in the swivel clip.

tah-dahh....

with the tag lines I have a snap on the end of the tag line, so I just wrap the rubber band around the fishing line and pull it through itself to make a loop and then put the loop in the snap.
