View Full Version : It was the best of times...It was the worst of times
Slinger 06-20-2007, 09:54 PM I hope #^&#^&#^&#^&ens will pardon the plagerism.
It was the best of times, 4:15 yesterday morning, pogies all over the surface and the promise of great things to come.

Slinger 06-20-2007, 09:57 PM It was the worst of times. 11:00AM being towed back to the ramp with a blown motor. Thank God for SeaTow, would have cost $500 with out my membership. Andy says it sounds like a siezed rod bearing, big$$$.

Raven 06-20-2007, 10:33 PM thats a total bummer....
sorry you had that happen slinger
it could have happened in real snotty weather
so perhaps it happening now is better.
i hope your repairs don't take to long.
Rick Ackley 06-21-2007, 07:28 AM Sorry to hear about the engine. Seatow to the rescue again. Hope it's not too costly and time consuming.
flyben24 06-21-2007, 09:08 AM yea join the club..... finally got my 13' whaler in after powerpack repairs....... ran great for 3 weeks, then died again.... might be a while before i get back out there
That sucks on the tow. Sorry to hear that but what happened in between:rollem:
Slinger 06-21-2007, 09:12 AM Andy, the Merc repair guy thinks it`s a rod bearing and could get to it pretty soon but paying for it is gonna be the problem. Big $$$.

zimmy 06-21-2007, 09:53 AM Sorry to hear it. The other weekend my buddy was about 20 miles from home when his merc took a dump. 80 hours on it. Only out a few times since he last dropped $3000 after insurance or warranty or whatever... Took 9 hours till he got back. Told it isn't gonna be cheap this time either :(
that sucks- i snapped my shifter cable yesterday- had ot come back to the dock in reverse :hihi:
Pete F. 06-21-2007, 03:39 PM This just makes me really want a boat...not
Slinger 06-21-2007, 05:48 PM In between we were into a pretty good bite on flies. Earlier in the season I caught LOTS on the fly, which is my favorite way to fish. But then I got swept up in the big fish craze and switched over to pogies on the spin rod, I got my fill with 8 fish over 30#. Now it`s time to switch back to what I love most.
