fishaholic18 06-24-2007, 09:09 PM What are you throwing at 'em? Maybe change your offering. Have you tried live bait? (Eels/Bunker) They can't resist live bait. Try to figure out what they are feeding on and match it as close as you can. If fishing Plugs or Rubber, change up your retrieve, slower, faster, pause and twitch. Try bigger lures, different colors, etc. Are you fishing at night? Night bite is starting to turn on. Pay attention to current, wind direction, stage of tide, etc. It all matters.
Just remember, have fun..Good luck.

agreed BUT your telling me that if you never caught another fish for the rest of your life you would still be fishing?
part of fishing is catching, the excitement, the chaos the adrenaline, wondering how big the fish your fighting will be.
at the rate my season is going so far i welcome every dink that wants to hit because i sure am doing ALOT of FISHING.
BrianS 06-25-2007, 08:14 AM I would be ecstatic if I was hitting dinks.. 0 for my last 7 trips
Thats
4 at the canal
1 in narragansett out in the boat with eels and chunks on a perfect night
2 on the outer cape.
Only a handful of taps the entire time.
On that same note, Ive only seen I think 2 fish caught that entire time by the people with me, so its not just me...
Saltheart 06-25-2007, 08:17 AM I agree the joy is in the fishing. I do like to catch at least one (any size) each time out. i don't know why that first one is so important but I always like to catch at least one.
everyone has their own set of personal goals..
for me, id rather catch one 20 lb a night as opposed to 20 one pounders

Saturday, fish hit rubbah, didn't touch fresh herring chunks....been all cookie cutters too, 22-28 inches.
