Heres the deal... I have a 19' center console moored in pt. judith, and I have 2 straight months off to fish with absolutely ZERO obligations for time... its a wet dream come true. Problem is I am completely unfamiliar with The area waters near point judith... Primary objective is stripers. Im not asking people to devulge gps #'s or secret spots, but can anyone give me a few good spots to start with that arent too far from galilee? I would really appreciate it... Ive only been out in the boat 4 times, and havent really gone beyond the east wall/ outside the harbor. Any "what & where" advice would be graetly appreciated... Thanks guys.

The outside walls around the harbor can be very good.
The entire harbor, where there is structure, including the channel, holds very large fish. You dont have to go far at all to be in the presence of big fish. Catching them is another story.

Get the charts and find the fish holding structure.
The North Rip requires specialized techniques - I'm surprised Eben mentioned it - I guess he doesn't fish there and doesn't care how crowded it can get and how a few can screw it up for the rest. Maybe I'll PM you a few of his spots closer to PJ since he's so fond of giving out others.

He didnt say the North Rip was LOADED with BASS so go there...

He gave a general spot.
I think the new rule should be if it is a regular spot in the ProJo then everyone talk about it.

Search the On the Water magazine archives. Go to their website. Bill Nolan did a nice article on some close in spots around the walls.

No need to go very far. The walls themselves hold fish, the five cottages area holds fish as does carpenters bar and Nebraska shoal. The north rips can be good but that can be a long ride in an 18 footer if a north wind kicks up.
