How are replacement rod tips measured? I know that they are numbered....4,41/2.,5, etc. Are they measured in hundreths or thousanths. Is this measured at the tip, or a little lower, where the guide ends? Thank you.

You can buy a small measuring device from Merrick's of a rod building retailer that is easy to use formeasuring the tip. Mike P 07-05-2007, 01:52 PM Standard measurement is in 64ths of an inch. When someone says a rod has a "size 9" tip, it means it's a 9/64" tip. thortum 07-05-2007, 06:08 PM Thanks to "Swimmer" and "Mike P". Now I can place my order. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
