We departed the dock ~3am yesterday heading for Stellwagon. Our game plan was to start trolling by 430am if we didn't see any topwater action along the way.
We worked from PTown all the way up to the BE Bouy and covered both sides of the bank for a few hours. Wasn't until around 930am that we started seeing signs of life (whales & birds).
We were working a 4 rod spread on my buddies boat; spreader bars with birds and daisy chains. I saw the tuna make a sideways pass across the farthest spreader bar then it re-appeared directly behind it about 20 feet. With a blink of the eye, the fish closed the gap and struck - game on!
Took about 20 minutes to get into the boat. Fish taped out to 49". I'm amazed how solid and heavy these fish are.
