I been doing alot of casting from rocks and other ruff areas.I usually bring 2 poles with me.1 for some chunks and the other for plugs.My Rod and reel on the bait chucker is getting beat up from trying to wedge it into rocks and what not to keep the tip up.Is there any kind of holder that's made for rocks or rocky areas.If so let me know I can't see fishing only 1 pole with my luck a seagull will swoop down and steal it then crap on me as it fly's away leading me to fall facefirst on a plover nest just while DEM happens to be walking buy .I'm looking to buy a better rod and don't want the same damage done to it.

I'm confused. Do you have bait in the water while you're plugging? I guess I'm kind of against that. I used to do the same thing when I started out. I would recommend sticking to one or the other at time if that's the case. You're just going to end up missing fish or with your chunking setup in the drink. If you are just looking to bring two rods then I don't think you can do anything other than carefully laying your rod down or wedging it between rocks like you said.

Honestly, I would start carry plugs and eels. You can do both pretty easily with one rod. When you feel like chunking......stick to that.

Yeah I usually do both as long as space permits.My chunk chucker is always set to little or no drag just enough to make noise.While that sits in between two sharp rocks I'll throw some plugs off in the opposite direction.Just trying to save the grips and the reel from getting beat up.Spend hundreds of dollars on nice equipment to throw em down on the rocks just isn't cool.Not sure why your against it but I'd like to know.I've only been casting the beach for the past two seasons.My poles and reels look like warvets.

luds is right on .. imho ... one rod ..If your going to chunk hold the rod in your hands to feel the bump then bow . Bouncing rods in rod holders just loose fish . They feel it and drop it ..On the other hand eels and plugs is a good idea also to cover more water.. run and gun ..

Well re-registered couldn't handle being called the skunk and skunkmaster.I'll log in as him when the name fits.I've been thinking about it and I'm going to fish one pole from now on.I'm looking at a ten foot Tsunami airwave pole.I think it will be comfortable for plugs and chunks.Didn't want to ruin a new pole in the rocks but seeing as I will work only 1 from now on it will be in my hands.Right now I'm plugging with an 8ft uglystick lite and chunking with a 12ft Shakespeare big game walmart rod.I can't see using it for any long periods of time or to cover ground with.Heavy as hell and stiff as a board.So I guess it goes from rod holders to anyone got any feedback on a tsunami airwave pole ?

Couldn't agree more. I'm not a chunker but like one of Clint's famous lines "adapt and over come" if that's what it takes especially the way the last two years have been, whatever it takes. One rod , eels and plugs they'll tell you what they want. Same for chunking one rod , keep it in your hands, keep the line above the waves, feel the pick up, engage, bow and set.

Good decision on the name. I don't know anything about the tsunami rods but I would suggest checking out Quarrow. They seem to be pretty moderate which would be good for plugs and eels IMO.

the airwave rods are on the light side.......i have a 7' and it is only good for lite tackle stuff. take a look at the trophys if you want a tsunami.
