Today was my first real attempt at catching a striper surfcasting at my new spot, which is all sand, and rocks like a mile away. No one else ever fishes here and you cant see people for miles away. Took some casts with a white needlefish lure at 5:30 this morning for about 45 min. with no luck. Changed over to a rapala lure which could only cast about 50ft. but a beauty 15# striper hit it out of nowhere.... i landed it and released it strong and healthy.

Nice. I'm interested to see this new spot :hidin: just kidding. It is always rewarding to see a spot that looks good and actually catch fish on your hunch :wiggle:
