and my right fore arm too (twice)

too painful to use the mouse still...well for editing pixels that is,,,:wall:

i am now a full fledged hornet ASSASIN who will
 devote the rest of his days to eradicating every hornet i see....

i will build minate torture chambers for captured hornets where they
are subjected to mid evil sadistic devices of dismemberment :drool:
Slipknot 07-31-2007, 09:10 PM bees are a farmers friend:rtfm:

I had wasps do the same to me when I was a kid, I hate wasps
justplugit 07-31-2007, 09:35 PM Glad ya didn't step on a nest of yellow jackets, they hit like hammers.
Raven 08-01-2007, 05:32 AM yeah Slip, so did i ....the bastards... :uhuh:

wasn't to bad this time ---> they were in the ends of a snow plow
frame and i got to close without seeing them there...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
but when i was a kid....  i  got it (STUNG)  real bad.... but of  course
i kinda deserved it...  though too..
i remember it........ like it was yesterday...
there was a huge old cedar tree with a very large
paper wasp nest hanging in it  ....just at the right height
for pegging a rock at....
i  had set up a whole escape route and everything
and then threw a rock perfectedly , blasting a big hole
right through their nest....
 then i waited ON MY MARK
GET SET....READY TO RUN...
>>spot<< and nothing happened
at least it didn't appear that way...    and afterwards i got
stung all over the face so many times my head swelled up
like a friggan WALT disney character...  everything becoming
twice it's normal size...    but i'll tell yeah what hurt even worse
and that was the lack of sympathy all of my brothers showed me
when they saw me...   because each one of them busted out
laughing their as off...      and  that hurt even more....
fishpoopoo 08-01-2007, 09:04 AM can of WD-40 plus an open flame.
Mike P 08-01-2007, 03:22 PM Hornets and yellow jackets don't have their stingers pull out and die, so they can sting you multiple times. They're much more aggressive than wasps and bees, who'll usually only bother you if you disturb their nests. They will leave their stingers behind and die, so they usually only sting you as a last resort.
See what you can learn from a visit to the Barnstable County fair? :hee: :rotf3:
Backbeach Jake 08-01-2007, 04:46 PM I'll keep saying this because if it helps stop the pain of a sting for anyone it's worth it. Onions on a fresh bee or hornet sting will almost immediatly relieve the pain. Slap a fresh slice of onion on it. Poof, relief.
Raven 08-01-2007, 04:53 PM i don't think i'll slap an onion to my eye...
i am mildly sick today due
to the venom  ....:skulz:
feels like i caught a right hook
to the left side of my head
kapowww  !
Raven 08-12-2007, 10:02 AM i appreciate the feedback on the sting remedies because i'll be stung quite often where i'm going.... :heybaby:
so it was an opportunity to learn more about it...in detail...
Onions do contain some anti venom attributes when you apply them topically  ....but that also works when you eat some onions too...
but  here is a page .....i just finished reading about a guy who took it a step further and purposely stung himself to try different remedies!
you'll be surprised at his findings...
I used to work on a golfcourse.we would get and oily rag wrap it around an old flag pole,the flags on the greens,light it on fire and hold it under the paper nests.Laugh as they drop out like plastic melting dripping out on fire.Was fun to exterminate.The undergound nests were a little tougher but early in the morn you fill em with gas and light them from a distance away because the flame would sometimes shoot out the hole a good distance.We used to use steaks or mud on the stings.
