i have not been out in the boat in over 6 weeks due to this bad foot and bad tides , i hit the ramp at 6:30 (i know late , the tides) launch the boat ,i was going to hit the bank looking for charlie , i fire up the boat and there is no water comming out of the tell ,:bc: scrub the trip :wall: the only good part is i called the good folks at monahan's and they told me to check the tell with a paperclip the salt builds up and blocks the outflow , low and behold that was the problem . cheap fix just a lost day , better at the ramp than on the bank i guess .

I had a Merc, that did that all he time! I hated it, I ended putting a longer hose and took the plastic piece off and threw it away, never happened again.
Also have heard of others that drilled the hole a bit bigger in them.

now that i know what to look for i will make it a point to clean the nozzel more often , the motor is a 115 4stroke yamaha and its only 2 years old and is flushed every trip , i never would have thought that gunk/salt would build up that fast , i know you need to change the impeala at certian intervals but not sure how often

I changed mine every other year, but it is a much older Yamaha. Guys that leave the boats in the water all season should be doing it every year!

A heavy piece of fishing line works just as good.

I know you guys have outboards but if you flush after every use try
Salt Away, I do my 4.3 merc since new. never a problem with salt build up anywhere ,I also have enough left in the dispenser to soak the boat and gear after flushing

Keep a 12" piece of weed wacker line in your tackle box. It works excellent.
