So every friday night me and a buddie buy either A half dozen or A dozen eels to drift on our yaks I use no wieght .We usually dump the ones we dont use or give them away.We are going out again tonight i have seven eels left 4 alive and 3 dead I managed to keep them moist and cool.Would you drift the dead eels the same way with no weight or use a weight or a jig head or not even use the dead ones or something else. And are they any less affective then alive ones lets here your thoughts and ideas.

Just cast the dead eels and retrieve slowly.
You will get hits on the dead ones.
Drifting.... as you are moving so are the eels. they will get hit on by stripers and blues.

I have had success trolling dead eels at a faster clip in the yak, 1.5-2.0 knots. Everyone has their own method to success.
