I've lost 25#'s this surfcasting season. Anyone else a big loser?

Slightly improved eating habits have helped but I think all the walking and rock hopping are the biggest reason.

I wish.... although I do feel the added exercise of rock hopping helps as I'm usually sweating when I get to my perch

I lost 15 pounds over the past two weeks of heavy rockhopping, surfcasting, and hiking in to the choice spots. Amazing. My best argument yet to my wife as to why fishing is a worthwhile activity that should be encouraged as much as possible.

25 pounds is a lot of weight. you should film an infomercial like chuck norris or something. :bl:

I don't go by weight loss by itself, because you can drop weight by doing nothing, and gain it when your active.
My way of gauging my "success" during any year is by how well I feel as well as how well my clothes fit.
You would be surprised that people think they "fit" into their clothes just because they can shoehorn their butts into a tight pair of jeans/slacks and rachet a belt around what they think is their waist, and pronounce "See, they still fit!"
I was advised by my Doctor that I should exercise regularly (Don't thy all say that?) When I explained that I do a lot of fishing, and it entails a lot of walking, he stated (and I quote)"That's not REAL exercise." I then proceeded to explain to him that fishing from shore, or in my case from a bridge in Duxbury, mans walking MILES back and forth with the occasional stop to pull in a fish. Needless to say, he understood what I meant.

The best indicator besides noticeable weight loss is how you feel, and oddly enough, how you feel when you look at yourself in the mirror.

I'm not talking conceit here, just your feeling of self image.
It's weird that when you don't feel well, you tend to "see all your flaws", but when you feel good, you see"how good you look".

Keep up the good work, and you may end up with the ultimate revenge (even if you weren't thinking of it) of living longer and healthier than your peers.

I feel and look sexy.:lm: On a more serious note you're right. How you end up feeling is much more important than the weight loss itself. Hoping to keep up some cardio over the winter and early spring.

interesting topic

big lunch @ 2:00 usually allows me to skip dinner and munch on a couple of granola bars during the hour ride to the water

ups and down with weight for me

put on 15 during the winter
loose it in the summer during fishing season

i might have even lost it in one trip to cutty this june

biggest thing is legs and ankles get stronger during fishing season from hopping rocks

first two times on the rocks for the year, the next day was a little tender on the ankles

I have gained weight, and I think it's because of exercise ... or the increased eating that comes with it ... but also feel better ... so who the heck knows. But as far as weight loss goes when I am hopping on the rocks, I think a steady diet of coffee and red bull help me drop the weight in one form or another.

Have lost 35 lbs, been working out 6 days a week. Have to go on a delayed honeymoon (3 yrs) in Jamaica, in March don't want to be the fat guy! and yes lugging this tackle box and throwing 3-6 oz plugs hundreds of times a morning are helping as well.

I'm down 20 from April but have been stagnant (dietwise) the past month - need to get back on the better diet so my fishing will work off some extra pounds :) ...

I figure if I lose 20-30 pounds a year I'll be at my target in the latter stretches of this decade  :exp: :rotflmao: :smash: :yak6: :bsod:
