I'm going to build a pencil popper stick to thro 2oz to 4oz pencils and bottles with . But I was wondering what blank you guys up north use to build on. Looking for something in the 11ft range and will be useing a 706 on it with braid. Is the Lami fiberglass 136 2m to heavy a blank to thro all day with, I'm looking at that blank. I use a ARA 132 2 2pc now. Thanks for any input.

look at the lami gsb1321m. it is a very good pencil rod and it is graphite. if you are looking for a glass blank, look at the lami sb1362f
both blanks are considered to be the best pencil blanks out there...but you decide.....graphite or glass. good luck!

That's if you can find one. They've been discontinued for a few years now.

The 136 2M is the lightest long glass blank that Lami makes. It's lighter than the 10' 121 3M.

the sb1362m would make for a nice pencil popping rod, but it just lacks any backbone and i wouldnt throw much over 3 nevermind 4 oz with it. the sb1363m is a better choice, but a little heavier. i would also suggest the gsb1321m. plenty of backbone to cast heavy lures and land large fish, soft enough to makes pencils dance, and a durable graphite blank.
