There is only one reason, there is no fish up on the north shore
and there was not a 50 pound fish caught a couple of weeks ago either

If there are fish up on Cape Ann I'll be damned if I can find them......I've been skunked the last 6-8 times I've been out.

i'll second that. having a tough year finding the fish... doesnt stop me from trying though. everything is hunky dory according to the times.

I am also having a less-than-great year but some of that is due to less time put into it. That being said, things have started to show signs of improvement already and my hopes are rather high for a solid finish this season. :D

I live on Cape Ann and we had our annual kayak fishing tournament last weekend. I took this 50" baby just 8ft off Rockport.

There is a pretty big contingency of kayak guys on the N Shore that has had a banner summer. Mostly trolling eels after dark. The tournament was based in Salem Ma and was a 30 mile radius, I landed a 41 and 42" fish on Friday night, but found out that several larger fish were landed up to 45". The 50" was taken at 12 noon in 8ft of water just off the rocks! There were over 80 contestants and 25-30 fish landed over 40 inches just Fri and Saturday.

Never been tipped, not even close. Looking for a football now!

This fish was revived and released. The tourmament was a catch, measure, photo and release only.
