View Full Version : New Personal Best from Shore!
Squibby17 08-26-2007, 09:08 PM I recently moved to the north shore and have spent many nights exploring spots around the area, trying to figure out where the hell the fish are. I've actually been catching consistantly recently but lots of smalls. Well that changed Friday. I went on a one man stealth mission to a good looking spot. I start my night by losing a decent bass, followed by losing A REALLY nice fish, that I will be lamenting for years to come.
Luckly my agony was brief as I got a nice 36 inch fish 10 minutes later. I'm more than happy with a old school keeper striper but about 15 minutes later I'm on and it's pulling pretty good. I finally land the old lady and she's 41 inches and pretty fat. A new personal best for me from shore, certainly not big for some anglers on the board but great for me! I didn't have a scale, I'm not sure how much she weighed but I think mid 20's is a fair estimate.
Check out this pic, sorry its amatuer I had to figure out how to use the timer since I was alone.

Mike P 08-27-2007, 08:53 AM Mid-20s sounds good to me. I've had fat 43" fish nose 30 pounds. Nice fish and great job finding that body of fish on your own--isn't that the greatest feeling, to have doped out those fish all by yourself? :btu:
EarnedStripes44 08-27-2007, 12:06 PM very nice fish
Nice - you'll always remember "milestone" catches. Another step up the ladder for you. Reach for the next rung. Still lot's more memories for you to catch. Have fun trying.

Squibby17 08-28-2007, 01:21 PM Thanks for all the kind words guys and girls. This site keeps me motivated to try and improve me skills as there are so many great fisherman on the board.
I'm eyeing the 30 lb mark (from shore) for my next challenge. It would be fine by me to get there during the derby next month. :liquify:
