I wouldn't give up on the gibbs completely. Maybe buy one and see how it works out. Don't just go on what you heard. I bought a few gibbs dannies this winter and they swim fine.

I would definitely get some tattoo 2 oz. darters too.:bl:

Darters don't "swim". They're supposed to have an erratic action, more of a sweep than a swim, if you can picture that.

Gibbs darters still catch. I carry Gibbs, Superstrike and Tattoo darters. There are times when the fish will show a decided preference for the Gibbs. I accept the fact that they can split and crack. I still have to have them in my bag.

The video on the site shows the darters in action. The darters are being worked in an outgoing current as you can see. With small jerks of the rod, you can get them to dance and dart all over the place.

gibbs old school 3 hookers when i need a shallow run.
my favorite gibbs, if you can find one, is the 3 hook with the head hook almost to the top of the plug. i believe this was their original darter.

sea hag when i need a little more bite.

super strike or tattoo 2 oz. when i drop a cast into a big current.

i really like the small musso also. great lure when the mullet is kicking around.
