BEETLE 09-01-2007, 07:53 AM Yes - a friend at work read about it in the Newburyport daily news. MrHunters 09-01-2007, 09:41 AM uhh thats not the story that i read. it wasn't even taken out of the water according to the interview in the paper i read. Big Game 09-01-2007, 12:15 PM MrHunters is correct. According to the article. they knew exactly what it was as soon as they saw it. It was brought to the boat and promptly released. Here's a link to the article along with a picture of the fish... http://www.newburyportnews.com/punews/local_story_234004040.html pmueller 09-01-2007, 06:57 PM Not an unusual thing these days. Had a similar fish a couple of years ago in the CT river. Some in the Raritan Bay, so I'm told. BEETLE 09-01-2007, 08:42 PM Sorry - my co-worker obviously did not carefully read the article... Jim H 09-05-2007, 07:42 AM Yeah....my brother Jeff (was visiting from Idaho) caught it on my boat. Funny...he called the local paper....seeing they had run a BIG story the week before about a "GREAT WHITE SHARK" seen in the mouth of the Mack. Figured if they printed that story.. Anyways...of course he fails to mention my name....or my boat name - got fish?....or that he was using my rod...my reel..my line..my lure...my GAS. ;) I attached a photo. We got it close enough for a picture, but didn't know if you could take them out of the water (since they are endangered). I attempted to use the Boga grip, but it wouldn't grip on it's soft sucker lips. I didn't want to try to put a rope around the tail, again fearing I'd hurt the fish. Glad we got it to the boat and snapped a photo. If it had broken off, we would have thought we lost a HUGE striper. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
