I'm a newb when it comes to boat fishing. I'm taking the kids and a few rods and droplines over somewhere near Sculpins Ledge this Friday.
I'm not looking for any super secrets or anything just some advice on terminal tackle and whether Sculpins Ledge is a decent spot. Should I have a chum bucket going as well?
thx

I have no idea where scuplin's ledge is, but I'm pretty sure that flounder fishing season is closed.

IT IS NOT CLOSED
Your looking for winter flounder, not fluke. Season is all year for winter.

North of the cape you are ok, but why not go out with some poppers early am, and look for breaking fish they might have more fun.

Only if you're fishing north of Cape Cod. East and south of Cape Cod it's only open Sept 23rd to Oct. 22nd

Ya I here you, your on the other side of the hook and then down some:laugha: Actually, If you looked at a chart there is probably 20 places between Boston and RI called Sculpin Ledge in little areas.........................gets to the point where you actually have to keep a weekly updated reg chart on the boat instead of looking at it on occassion, a few too many regs for the rec angler.

Thx to Raider Ronnie, we had a good time. There's not a lot for the dinner table this time but I learned from it.
